Leadership Development Journey
The Leadership Development Journey is an initiative of The Wesleyan Church to develop more effective pastors of healthier churches. LDJ began in 2002 by the Board of General Superintendent as a means of raising the level of pastoral leadership in the Church. Dr. Ken Heer gave leadership to the implementation of four foundational developmental methods: mentoring, coaching, consulting, and teaching churches. Training was provided in the use of these methods over a period of several years. When they had begun to take root in the culture of the Church, their implementation was turned over to districts and participating pastors for continuation. The resources contained in this site are archived for use in personal and group leadership development.
LDJ exists to help you Run to Win. There are four essentials for running the RACE effectively:
- R - relationships
- A - action
- C - commitment
- E - energy
Each month additional resources will be available that deal with these four areas:
- Getting Connected (Relationships)
- Run the Race (Action)
- Pursue the Goal (Commitment)
- Set the Pace (Energy)
