CrossTraining

An Online Ordination Program for the Wesleyan Church

Designed for pastors desiring to be ordained through the Wesleyan Church, the Cross Training program is offered exclusively through Oklahoma Wesleyan University. The courses fulfill the academic requirements for ordination set forth by the Division of Education and Clergy Development of The Wesleyan Church.

Maximum Flexibility. Cross Training is only offered online so you can be in class wherever you live or travel as long as you can access the Internet. You can go to class on your time and at your pace and at your location.

Ultimate Convenience. Because classes are only online, you will have the chance to meet others, not just in your area who are also preparing for ministry, but throughout the world. Networking is assured as you develop and learn together from other high-powered leaders and teachers. You will also be challenged spiritually and academically by trained instructors who are in the trenches with you.

Life-Changing Results. Utilizing the latest technology and 25 years of experience educating adults, OKWU has teamed up with pastors and leaders in the Wesleyan Church to bring you practical, engaging, and sound theological resources that you can use today!

Cross Training Stirs the Gifts

God doesn’t give us our gifts in full bloom. We must learn how to grow and develop those gifts that come from him. Paul encouraged Timothy to stir up the gift that was given to him (2 Timothy 1:6). Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we grow and develop those gifts. Pastoring is no different. Pastors must learn to grow and develop those gifts. Cross Training classes are designed to stir up the gifts inside you while preparing you for ordination in The Wesleyan Church

Location

Wherever you want! Cross Training is offered completely online! Oklahoma Wesleyan uses Blackboard Learn, a proven Learning Management System (LMS), to deliver our accredited college and graduate classes in the online format. You will be using the same system for Cross Training classes. If the prospect of online classes concerns you or if you have never used the online format before, then consider this testimony from a pastor who moved from on-ground to online classes.

“I now prefer the online classes because I can read everyone’s posts. In a traditional class people are hesitant to talk, but in an online class you get to see what everyone posts.” D. Riley, Tulsa, OK.

We believe that the interface is very intuitive and you will be up and running with Blackboard in no time! We stand ready to assist you with training videos and/or trained staff who will gladly walk you through what you need to know in order to have a successful online experience.

District Approval

Cross Training has been approved by The Wesleyan Church and is designed to offer the courses that you need to fulfill the academic requirements for ordination. However, completion of the program doesn’t mean that you will be ordained. You will still need to have District Board of Ministerial Develop (DBMD) approval.
