Avon Wesleyan Church (AWC) is in a period of healthy transition, as we seek whom God has planned for our next lead pastor.
The mission of AWC is to invite everyone into a connected life with Christ.
We have a long-standing history of faithful attendance and strong family connections seeking to serve and minister to our local community. We place a high value on developing the faith of our families and children while honoring all generations in our congregation. We are a church that values meaningful relationships, beyond simply being friendly.
We believe God is guiding us into our next season of growth, rich with opportunity. The pastor will be responsible for preaching 40 (+/-) weeks per year and fostering a culture where Christ's command to make disciples is practiced throughout our church family, and trying new things to advance the gospel is celebrated.
The pastor will be responsible for guiding our current staff: full-time children's pastor, full-time youth/worship pastor, part-time office administrator/manager, and multiple ministry leaders. We desire strong teams which enable us to grow and expand our ministries.
The pastor will also help further refine our vision for the future, which includes continued development of our 4 Corners Campus, a 26-acre ministry site located approximately three miles from our main building. This site is already in use for summer Sunday morning tent-style worship services, ministry events, and community outreach (including 900+ visitors to our annual live nativity event) and has a site plan for future development.
Avon, New York is located in the beautiful Genesee Valley (northern Livingston County), an area that combines the benefits of a small, rural community with proximity to the technological and cultural opportunities of Rochester, just 20 miles to the north. Our community is renowned for its great natural beauty, with opportunities for fishing, hiking, boating, and many other activities.
AWC provides a competitive compensation package.
